MELVIN'S MESSAGE:

Good afternoon CHES families,

With Veterans Day happening on Monday, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the brave men and women who have served and are currently serving our nation. Your sacrifices, both big and small, have secured our freedoms and shaped the world we live in today. I honor your courage, your dedication, and your unwavering commitment to protecting our country. Thank you for your service, and may you know that your contributions will never be forgotten.

Thank you to the PTO for providing dinner for staff during Thursday's parent-teacher conferences. The dinner was delicious and we truly appreciate all of your support. If you are not a member of the PTO, I would encourage you to become one.

The first grade students did an AWESOME job in their performance of the Bertolone-Currey production of Nuts! The students put in a lot of hard working preparing for the final performance were so happy with how it turned out. Also, a shout out to Mr. Bertolone and Mrs. Currey for planning, preparing and putting on such a great show!

If your child is a car rider, please read the car rider section of this newsletter. We are having a lot of people not following procedures. I am asking that all cars follow the pick up procedures as if will assure that all students remain safe.

Congratulations to fifth grade students Denny and Oliver who are our Students of the Month!

Have a great weekend and an even better week,

Mr. Melvin

This information will help us create a special video tribute to share with students on Veterans Day allowing us to celebrate the dedication and sacrifices of those who have served.

CAR RIDER PICKUP REMINDERS!

car

When picking up your student(s) in the car line, please remember to only scan the QR code when you get by the traffic light. Too many students are outside waiting for parents who are down the street. This will be difficult for students when the weather gets bad. Please keep your QR code in your car to use. Only ask the outside staff for the QR code as a last resort, as they are busy getting students safely to their cars. If you need a new QR code card, or if your username or password aren't working please contact the office and we will gladly help you. Thank you for your cooperation.

STUDENTS WEAR BLUE ON NOVEMBER 14

a

November is Diabetes Awareness Month.  We would like to raise awareness, encourage empathy, and create a supportive school community.  We are asking students to participate in wearing blue on November 14th in support of those students and staff who live with Diabetes.  By doing this as a school we are creating an atmosphere of inclusion and understanding.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS!

Regular attendance allows students to build a strong foundation in essential subjects like reading, writing, and mathematics. It also provides opportunities to interact with peers, develop social skills, and learn important life lessons. When students miss school, they may fall behind their classmates, struggle with assignments, and miss out on valuable learning experiences. Therefore, consistent attendance is essential for a child's success in school and beyond.
