Cuyahoga Heights School District Community,
As we approach the 2024-25 school year, I am honored and humbled to introduce myself as your new superintendent. Having served this outstanding district as middle and high school principal and assistant superintendent, I am fortunate to continue our journey together in this new role. This marks my 30th year in education, and I couldn't be more proud to continue collaborating with the students, staff, families, and communities of Cuyahoga Heights Schools.
To our returning families and staff, welcome back! To those joining us for the first time, we're delighted to have you as part of our educational family. I hope your summer has been restful, rewarding, and filled with memorable experiences.

Our 5-star rating on the state report card is a testament to our professional staff's dedication and our students' hard work. We take immense pride in delivering high-quality programming in academics, arts, and athletics, all within a safe and nurturing environment.

Our first-class administrative assistants are often the first point of contact for students, families, and staff in our schools. Our team keeps us running smoothly and efficiently, handling daily office operations. Our administrative assistants provide a wealth of information about school procedures and events. They're here to help you navigate the start of the school year with ease, so don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or needs you may have.
Our district leadership team, consisting of administrators, supervisors, and coordinators, is thrilled to welcome students, families, and staff back for the upcoming school year. Below, we have included tables to clarify the restructuring of our district leadership team for the 2024-25 school year. While there have been some name changes and shifts in responsibilities, no new positions were added, resulting in cost savings for the district. This dedicated group of experienced professionals is focused on ensuring an optimal learning environment in our schools. The district leadership team is committed to every child's success and is always ready to address any questions or concerns you may have.
DISTRICT NEWS
Kicking Off Kindergarten
Kindergarten parents and caregivers are encouraged to attend an informational meeting in the Kindergarten area on Thursday, August 15 at 5:30 pm. Parents and caregivers will learn about the kindergarten process.
Ohio sets aside certain days each year (including the first Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in August) for consumers to buy certain items without sales tax. This sales tax holiday helps families buy clothing, supplies, and more items their children may need to be successful in the coming school year.
The 2024 sales tax holiday will take place from 12 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, until 11:59 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8. Also, more purchases are eligible. Visit the Ohio Department of Taxation web page for more details.
Box Tops for Education has gotten a lot easier! No more clipping labels, just use the Box Tops app to scan paper receipts or submit digital receipts within 14 days of purchase, or connect your Walmart account with your Box Tops account to earm at Walmart without scanning.
CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Despite the recent heatwave in Northeast Ohio, Fall co-curricular activities are in full swing at Heights. Football players and cheerleaders are out on the field practicing every day, gearing up for their upcoming seasons. Our cheerleaders began their morning workouts with a 2 mile run this week and our football players are finally able to start full contact practices. As students return to campus, the lively "energy" is back, signaling an exciting period brimming with anticipation for the new school year. Let's go RED WOLVES!
COMMUNITY
If you didn't have a chance to make it out to today, several residences in Cuyahoga Heights will be holding garage sales Saturday, August 3 from 8:00 am-3:00 pm.
Mark your calendars for the Cuyahoga Heights Village Annual Corn Roast at Bacci Park this Fall.
Once again this year, the Dan Kostel Recreation Center (5411 Turney Road) is offering Learn to Skate and Learn to Play Hockey programs for children age 3 and up. Not sure if your child will like skating? Not a problem! "Try Before You Buy" sessions are available at no charge.
