Dear CHS Community,
As we transition into summer, I want to inform you about several important improvement projects taking place across our district. These initiatives represent our ongoing commitment to maintaining and enhancing our facilities for our students and community.
This summer, we have three major projects underway. We are stabilizing the hillside area around our campus, which involves driving over 500 steel piles into the ground to ensure long-term safety and stability. Additionally, we are replacing the fire and security alarm systems in our Middle School and High School complex. These systems experienced a failure last summer, and while temporary repairs and increased maintenance allowed us to complete the school year successfully, full replacement is now necessary to ensure reliable operation. Finally, a new digital billboard is being installed by Lamar near the highway through a lease agreement that provides some additional funding for our district.
These projects began in early June and will continue through the summer, with most work completed before the start of the school year. During this time, you may notice some disruption to parking areas on campus and the presence of heavier equipment. The hillside stabilization work may produce unusual or loud noise as the steel piles are installed. Access to the stadium and certain parking lots will be restricted during various phases of construction.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make these important improvements to our facilities. These projects will enhance both the safety and functionality of our campus for years to come.
Reaching New Heights Together,
Matt Young
Superintendent

Einheit Electric Construction Company is currently replacing the fire and security alarm systems throughout our Middle and High School complex. After experiencing a system failure last summer, we were able to complete the school year using temporary repairs and increased maintenance. However, full replacement is now underway to ensure long-term reliability. This project is expected to continue throughout the summer.
Beginning Monday, June 16, The Ruhlin Company will start a major hillside stabilization project on our campus. This work involves installing more than 500 steel piles to reinforce the area and ensure long-term safety.
Throughout the summer, you can expect increased construction activity, including heavy equipment on site, noise from pile installation, and restricted access to certain parking areas and the stadium. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete this important work to protect and strengthen our campus.
Lamar Advertising is currently installing a new digital billboard at the rear of our school property along I-77. As part of this project, an access road is being restored and widened to allow semi-truck access to the installation site.
