Dear CHS Community,
The last full week of June brought quite the introduction to summer weather that reminded us the season has truly arrived. I hope everyone is finding time to rest, relax, take vacations, and enjoy this break from school. Time has a way of flying by during these summer months, so I encourage you to make the most of it.
Our construction projects continue to make steady progress. The Lamar digital sign installation is now complete, and the hillside stabilization project has reached the halfway point. Ruhlin has successfully secured the south end hillside and is now shifting operations to the north end. Meanwhile, Einheit continues to impress with their team approach as they work on replacing the fire and security systems in our Middle School and High School complex.
On the legislative front, the state budget bill is currently on the governor's desk awaiting consideration and approval. Once I have complete information, I will provide a comprehensive update on any effects to our school district operations.
We will take a brief newsletter break next week in observance of Independence Day and will return with our regular updates on July 11. Until then, continue to have a safe and enjoyable summer break.
Matt Young
Superintendent

All visitors should enter through the High School pillar doors and ring the buzzer on the door to the right for assistance.
Soak up the sun and a good story this summer! Whether you devour a whole stack or just sneak in one great read, make sure a book makes it into your summer plans.

Einheit Electric Construction Company is currently replacing the fire and security alarm systems throughout our Middle and High School complex. After experiencing a system failure last summer, we were able to complete the school year using temporary repairs and increased maintenance. However, full replacement is now underway to ensure long-term reliability. This project is expected to continue throughout the summer.
The Ruhlin Company began a major hillside stabilization project on our campus on Monday, June 16. Now at the halfway point, the south end of the project has been completed.
This critical work involves the installation of more than 500 steel piles to reinforce the hillside and ensure long-term safety. Throughout the summer, you can expect ongoing construction activity, including heavy equipment on site, noise from pile driving, and limited access to certain parking areas and the stadium.
We appreciate your continued patience and understanding as we move forward with this essential project to protect and strengthen our campus for years to come.
Lamar Advertising has finished installing a new digital billboard at the back of our school property along I-77. As part of the project, the existing service road was widened and restored to accommodate semi-truck access to the site.
