September 12, 2025
Dear CHS Community,
September is flying by, and with nearly a month of school behind us, this is an ideal time to check in on academic progress. I encourage all families to review their student's grades and overall performance. If you identify areas needing attention, please connect with your child's teachers without delay. Our staff stands ready to offer strategies and support to help students achieve success. Taking action now, rather than waiting, can make a significant difference in addressing any academic concerns.
Our fall athletic seasons are also reaching important milestones. While most sports are mid-season, several teams are already entering postseason competition and celebrating senior nights. I encourage our community to attend these events while opportunities remain, particularly to support our seniors who are experiencing these moments for the last time as CHS Red Wolves.
Next week marks the last full week of summer before autumn officially arrives, reminding us how quickly the seasons change. These seasonal weeks offer valuable chances to engage with your student's education and celebrate their achievements both in the classroom and on the field.
Reaching New Heights Together,
Matt Young
Superintendent
Developing Responsible Digital Organization and Study Skills
In today's digital age, students need strong organizational skills for both their physical materials and digital resources. Learning to manage online assignments, digital files, and study tools responsibly sets students up for academic success and prepares them for future educational and career demands. Digital organization skills help students stay focused, meet deadlines, and develop healthy technology habits that will serve them throughout their lives. Here are some strategies for developing effective digital organization and study skills:
Preschool-5th Grade:
Create simple digital folders for different subjects with clear, colorful labels
Practice logging into educational platforms with supervision
Learn basic keyboard skills and proper computer posture
Establish screen time limits and breaks during digital learning
6th-8th Grade:
Organize digital files using consistent naming conventions and folder systems
Use digital calendars or planners to track assignments and due dates
Learn to evaluate online sources for accuracy and reliability
Practice responsible online behavior and digital citizenship
9th-12th Grade:
Develop sophisticated file management systems for different classes and projects
Use productivity apps and tools to enhance organization and time management
Learn to balance digital and traditional study methods effectively
Understand proper citation methods for digital sources and research
For All Students:
Back up important work regularly to prevent loss
Keep passwords secure and never share login information
Take regular breaks from screens to rest eyes and maintain focus
Ask for help when technology problems interfere with learning
Remember, digital organization skills are just as important as traditional study skills in helping students succeed academically and develop lifelong learning habits.
This week, we are proud to shine the spotlight on our Prekindergarten staff! Each day, this incredible team sets the foundation for our youngest learners, creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where curiosity and growth flourish. With endless patience, creativity, and care, they guide our students through some of their very first school experiences—building not only academic skills but also confidence, friendships, and a love for learning. Their dedication ensures that every child feels valued and supported from the very beginning of their educational journey.

On Monday, September 8, Girl Scout Troop 70115 completed a service project to help clean up the elementary playground and blacktop area. The troop worked together to pick up trash on the playground and along the fence, then split into two teams for a fun challenge—seeing who could collect the biggest pile of weeds! By the end, the girls had filled two and a half lawn bags. Thanks to their hard work, the playground is looking great, and Troop 70115 is proud to give back to a space that means so much to them.
